Fillings that
simply disappear.

A cavity caught early is a small, quick fix. We restore decayed or worn teeth with tooth-colored composite — mercury-free, bonded conservatively, and shaded to vanish into your smile — usually in a single comfortable visit.

A calm, modern treatment suite at AGAVI Dental Studio in Cypress, TX

Why AGAVI

Cavity Fillings, done differently.

Caught early, shown clearly

Digital low-radiation x-rays and intraoral photographs find decay while it's still small. You see the cavity on screen before we recommend anything — if it can be watched instead of filled, we'll say so.

Conservative by principle

We remove only the decayed tooth structure and bond the composite to what's healthy. Smaller preparations mean a stronger tooth and a filling that lasts.

Tooth-colored, mercury-free

Modern composite is matched to your shade and sculpted to your tooth's natural contours. No silver, no dark edges — and it's placed in one visit.

The Process

Considered, start to finish.

Every step explained before it happens, in plain language — that's the AGAVI way. Here's how a filling unfolds here.

  • Digital low-radiation x-rays and intraoral photos
  • Tooth-colored composite fillings, mercury-free
  • Single-visit treatment for most cavities
  • Onlays for larger areas of decay
  • Replacement of failing or cracked old fillings
  • Nitrous oxide available for comfort
01

Find it early

At your exam, x-rays and intraoral photos pinpoint decay. We show you exactly what we see and whether it needs treatment now, or watching.

02

Numb and comfortable

Gentle local anesthetic — and nitrous oxide if you'd like it. Very small cavities sometimes need no anesthetic at all.

03

Remove, bond, sculpt

The decay is removed, the tooth is cleaned, and composite is bonded in layers and shaped to your natural anatomy.

04

Polish and check the bite

The filling is hardened, polished smooth, and checked against your bite. You can eat as soon as the numbness wears off.

Good Questions

Cavity Fillings, answered honestly.

Does getting a filling hurt?

It shouldn't. The tooth is numbed with local anesthetic before we begin, and nitrous oxide is available if the dentist makes you anxious. Afterward, mild sensitivity to cold or pressure for a few days is normal and fades on its own.

How long does a filling take?

Most single fillings take 30 to 60 minutes, and several teeth in the same area can often be treated in one visit. If a cavity is found at your exam or cleaning, we can frequently take care of it the same day.

Should I replace my old silver fillings?

Only if there's a reason to. A silver (amalgam) filling that's intact and sealed is doing its job, and replacing it removes more tooth. We recommend replacement when a filling is cracked, leaking, has decay beneath it, or when a front-of-mouth filling bothers you cosmetically — and we'll show you the evidence on your x-rays either way.

How long do tooth-colored fillings last?

Typically seven to ten years or more, depending on size, location, and how well the tooth is cared for. Good brushing and flossing, regular check-ups, and a night guard if you grind all extend the life of a filling. We check every filling at each exam.

What's the difference between a filling, an onlay, and a crown?

Size. A filling repairs a small to moderate cavity directly in the tooth. An onlay is a custom-made ceramic piece that replaces a larger portion — including a cusp — while preserving the rest. A crown covers the whole tooth when most of it is damaged. We always recommend the smallest restoration that will protect the tooth long-term.

What does a filling cost at AGAVI?

It depends on the size of the cavity and how many surfaces of the tooth are involved. We quote your exact fee after your exam, in writing, before any treatment. We're insurance-independent — fees are the same for everyone, we file out-of-network claims for you if you have benefits, and AGAVI Club members receive member pricing.

“Ok real talk, I'm scared of the dentist fr. Hadn't been in a minute… like a LONG minute 😬. But I walked into AGAVI and bro, the whole spot looks like a resort. Lowkey had me calm the second I walked in, no cap. They greeted me like I was checking into a vacation spot. Check-in was all on my phone, quick, no clipboard stuff. Then they did a full exam with all the new tech and even scanned my teeth in 3D. Meanwhile I'm just chillin watching the TV on the ceiling like it's nothing. After that they put everything up on a big screen, my x-rays and pics of my teeth, and broke it all down. They answered every question I had and never made me feel dumb about how long it'd been. La neta, that meant a lot. Then they got me in for my cleaning right away, and ong I needed it BAD. My teeth and my whole mouth feel so clean now, like brand new. I've never walked out of a dentist feeling like this. I already told them I'm doing my veneers there. Can't wait. If you're scared of the dentist like me, go to AGAVI. 10/10 🔥🦷”

“I went to Agavi dental studio as a new patient. First off, the waiting room and whole office feels and looks and even smells like a tropical Tulum resort spa. The effect is elevated and calming. On arrival I was greeted warmly and offered a cool scented face towel and refreshment like when you arrive at a nice resort. Check in was easy and digital. They did a full exam with the latest tech. They even scanned my teeth in 3D! They did all this while I relaxed watching the overhead TV. They also presented the exam results on a nice big screen where they showed my Xray’s and pictures and answered all my questions. I only needed a cleaning, which I got right away, and again it was a calm experience and my teeth have never felt cleaner! With the resort like experience and great customer service, I look forward to my next visit.”
